WHEN YOU PLAY (SOME OF) OUR GAMES
THIRD PARTY DATA
In Steam's Terms and Agreements you agreed that Valve may share some of your data with the developers/publishers of the games you buy. This is data like the game you bought from us, the price you paid, your steamid and any data that is set publicly visible on your profile.
We will use this feature from Valve to understand how our game is performing. To help us process, analyze and store this data we will use a third-party tool called Steam Data Suite.
Steam Data Suite will never store any information that is not already available through Valve's own tools (API's and developer backend), nor will they share it with anybody besides us.
When you click on a web-advertisement it is common practice for the advertiser to try and find out if the click leads to a sale. This is called attribution. To do this on Steam is difficult and requires us to use a third-party tool called Steam Data Suite.
When you start some of our games for the first time the tool will do a one-time check to see if you've clicked one of our web-advertisements before starting the game. This helps us to understand what advertisements find the right audience. For this feature Steam Data Suite stores a single encrypted identifier. This identifier can never be traced back to you or your Steam account nor will it be used for anything else than the one-time attribution mechanic described here. If you wish to see your identifier removed, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Under the new GDPR law you have rights you can exercise, these are:
Right to be forgotten – this means you can request that we delete all data that we hold about you. You will need to put this request in writing to us via the post or by e-mail. Please bear in mind that we cannot delete data that is associated with a pending order or an order less than 180 days old as this information is required under our legal obligations. After this time your personal data will be erased however the non-personal data such as the revenue and item transaction will be kept. This information will not be linked to you personally.
Access – you can request that we supply you with the data that we hold about you. We have 30 days to comply with this request unless there is a reason why we cannot disclose within this timeframe. We will let you know in the unlikely event that we need a longer window.
Rectification – you can request that we amend your data if there are inaccuracies or incomplete information.
Security – you can expect that any data we hold about you is secure. We only process data using HTTPS so that all data passed between our website and server is encrypted.
